"Subtly" is a word.
"Speared" is a word.
Just because X!word is commonly used in conjunction with Y!word, it doesn't automatically make Z!word used with Y!word incorrect.
As they say, a program is only as smart as the person who created it, and clearly the people who created the spell-checker for Docs didn't finish high school English.
I'm not even getting into the arguments I've had with Word or OpenOffice.
